Riviera Residences 2 by MERED is a waterfront residential development on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, with architecture by Herzog & de Meuron. A ground floor and 34 upper floors rise above landscaped spaces beside the water. The mother-of-pearl facade treatment draws on the Emirates' pearl-diving heritage. Completion is scheduled for Q2 2030.
One-bedroom apartments provide the entry point at AED 2,200,000 ($599,000), with total areas from 877 sqft (81.5 m²). The two-bedroom format begins at 1,195 sqft (111 m²) and AED 2,900,000 ($789,700). In the one-bedroom Type 04, the entrance hall leads to a guest powder room and an open kitchen, living and dining area, while the bedroom has its own bathroom. The balcony sits alongside the living room.
Three-bedroom apartments start at AED 4,500,000 ($1,225,300), with areas from 2,066 sqft (191.9 m²). Type 22 has a laundry, guest powder room, bathrooms serving the bedrooms and two balconies. Its living and dining room opens towards the water-facing edge of the building. The two-bedroom Type 10 takes a different approach, placing the main living space between the bedrooms and providing two bathrooms and a separate guest toilet.
Two indoor fitness areas and an outdoor gym are planned alongside crossfit and yoga spaces. A padel court and sports pool provide further training options, with a sauna, steam room, cold plunge and mist shower for use afterwards. Gardens and quieter outdoor retreat areas sit within the same sports and wellness part of the development.
Two adult pools have sun loungers and outdoor seating nearby. Sunken lounges, fireplace seating and an indoor lounge bar provide places to meet away from the apartment. Landscape design by Michel Desvigne Paysagiste connects these outdoor areas, while broad glazing and angled balconies define the residential elevations above them.
The family club includes a children's pool, an outdoor playground with table tennis and an indoor playroom. An event hall with cinema, a cafeteria with a show kitchen and outdoor dining areas accommodate shared meals and gatherings. A business lounge provides a separate place to work. The waterfront promenade adds cafes, restaurants, terraces and boutique retail to the development.
