    Dubai Islands is a new area in northern Dubai, near Deira. It consists of five artificial islands with a total area of approximately 17 km², stretching along the Arabian Gulf. It has long promenades, more than 60 km of coastline and about 20 km of beaches, so the area was originally planned as a resort lifestyle destination. It usually takes less than 25 minutes to drive to Dubai International Airport and Downtown Dubai.

    The large Souk Al Marfa coastal market is already operating on Dubai Islands. It is a long promenade of almost 1.9 km with shops, restaurants and cafes. Inside, there are separate themed areas, including a Thai market with street food. You can eat at the Korean restaurant Meokja, the Malaysian Nur Malaysia, Krua Thai and Smile Cuisine, and other establishments. Souk Al Marfa often hosts fairs and festivals, and its proximity to the Gold Souk and Dubai Creek makes Dubai Islands interesting for both tourists and locals.

    Family resorts are already open for relaxation on Dubai Islands. Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai is a beachfront hotel with its own water park, lazy river, children's areas, and several restaurants. Nearby is the Hotel Riu Dubai Beach Resort with an all-inclusive system, swimming pools, and water slides. Over time, new hotels, beach clubs, golf courses and parks will be added.

    The large shopping centres City Centre Deira and Al Ghurair Centre are a 10-15 minute drive away. The former features international brands, a VOX cinema, the Magic Planet family amusement park, a food court and restaurants. Al Ghurair Centre is one of Dubai's first malls, but it is also modern, with over 200 shops, cafes, a cinema and children's areas.

    Dubai Hospital is the nearest large public hospital in the city with a wide range of specialist departments. There are also private clinics nearby, such as the NMC Medical Centre in the Abu Hail area. Schools are important for families: Deira International School in Dubai Festival City, an international school with an IB programme, is located nearby.
